Position Description:

The Support Staff position for Construction Technology, Facility Management and Engineering Design Technology Programs is a part time position that reports to the Dean of Arts & Sciences or designated administrative supervisor. The primary responsibility is assisting Department Chair and Laboratory Foreman for instruction of students. Performance evaluation will be the responsibility of the Dean of Math science and Engineering or designated supervisor. Work time will be 20 hours a week between 9am and 10 pm. M-Sat

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist with individual and group instruction of students in the completion of laboratory assignments and other areas as assigned by supervisor.
2. Assist with written and oral evaluation of student progress.
3. Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment inventory and inventory control.
4. Assist in the maintenance of student records.
5. Assure that laboratory equipment is maintained in safe and operating condition.
6. Assist with maintaining a safe laboratory working environment. Familiarity with OSHA and SDS requirements.
7. Direct and coach students for safe working environment when performing lab and site duties.
8. Abide by WCC work practice and rules of conduct.
9. Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Experience in the Building Technologies.
2. Instructor experience a plus.
3. Understanding of Michigan Building. Codes and OSHA/ MIOSHA standards.
4. Shown skills in building, wood working and design software.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. College courses in Construction technology
2. OSHA certification
