Position Description:

This is an entry-level position involved in overseeing and promoting programs for youth: including academic enrichment, team building, arts, physical activities, special interest classes and summer programs. Reporting to the Supervisor, employees in this position engage directly with teens and youth participants at PCC. Reports to the Community Development Manager of the Parkridge Community Center.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop and plan active and passive programs for youth and families in Computer Lab, Arts & Craft room, Media Center and Fitness Center includes set up and preparation for projects and activities including weekly scheduling to be approved by coordinator
• Lead various programs, field trips and activities in which target age group(s) may participate
• Direct volunteers and interns that are assigned to Parkridge (as necessary)
• Performs other related duties as assigned within the general knowledge, skills and abilities set forth
• Daily monitoring of described areas above for safety and cleanliness as spelled out in policies and procedures
• Lead Team building and life skills programs and activities.
• Responsible for recycling efforts
• Responsible for daily maintenance of the Computer Lab, Arts & Craft room, Media Center, Storage Closet and Fitness Room; report supply needs to coordinator
• Have knowledge of facility procedures including reporting incidents, injuries, etc.
• Follow proper closing procedures as identified by coordinator

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
• Associate Degree in Human Services or related field.
• Equivalent of at least 1 year of successful work experience in a community center setting.
• Proficient in the use of digital and information technology.
• Knowledge of WCC programs (specifically those offered at the PCC).
• Knowledge of programming for youth and adults in a Educational Center setting
• Must be self-motivated and goal oriented.
• Ability to facility small group activities
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule with which includes evening and weekend hours
