Position Description:

General Summary:
The Construction Technology Department at WCC is looking for part time instructors in the Construction Technology program who report to the Dean of Arts & Sciences or designated administrative supervisor. The primary responsibility is instruction of students in laboratory and lectures settings and laboratory set up. Persons accepting position will be paid per contract for teaching and hourly for laboratory instruction and set up. Performance evaluation will be the responsibility of the Dean or designated supervisor. This is a Part Time Faulty Position. Position allows only 20 hours a week. Start Date August 2017. If not hired for the Fall 2017 semester will be considered for future semesters.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide individual and group instruction of students.
2. Instruct students using current industry Standards and with NCCER curriculum
3. Demonstrate real world applications
4. Become well acquainted with the polices and procedures of the Department, Division and College, as it relates to a healthy organizational and learning environment
5. Provide written and oral evaluation of student progress.
6. Assist with maintaining a safe laboratory working environment. Certified with OSHA and SDS requirements.
7. Lead team of staff and students on job site projects.
8. Participate in College and Departmental functions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Associates degree in construction technology or construction management
2. 15 years work experience or the equivalent education and work experience as determined by college administration, in the Construction field
3. Teaching experiences is a plus.
4. For Construction Technology instructors, must possess a current, valid Builders License.
5. Demonstrated skill in effective written and oral communication.
6. Understanding of the Michigan Residential Code Book, Michigan Commercial Code and MIOSHA Standards
7. Understanding of hands on procedures in construction, mechanicals, wood working, and computer aided design software

1. Master’s Degree
