Position Description:

To teach effectively in a classroom or clinical setting, through the development, instruction and evaluation of coursework, ensuring that overall course objective and program goals are achieved. To support student learning through evaluation of progress, guidance and assistance. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain environment conducive to student learning.
- Prepare for and instruct assigned course through the use of appropriate learning experiences and materials which provide the opportunity to meet overall course objectives and program goals.
- Adhere to course syllabus and comply with Assessment of Student Academic Achievement.
- Evaluate student progress through day to day evaluation, written examinations and overall observation.
- Provide students with feedback on progress on a timely basis.
- Actively support student success through guidance, advising and assisting individual students as needed.
- Participate in professional activities including, but not limited to, curriculum planning, examination development, textbook selection, program evaluation/revision and other professional planning activities.
- Participate in Student Opinion Questionnaire (SOQ) process.
- Clinical Instructors maintain positive communication with affiliating agencies.
- Attendance required for all scheduled classes and labs.
- Adhere to teaching handbook.

Related Duties:
- Submission of grades and course handout on a timely basis.
- Accountable for preparation of each course taught.
- Notification of availability for student consultation.
- Maintain an active program of professional development related to both individual and institutional needs.
- Abide by Washtenaw Community College’s work practice and rules of conduct.

Minimum Qualifications:

Formal academic training as determined by administration.
- Work experience related to teaching as determined by administration.
-Certificate or license as needed when connected with the teaching area or area where the instructor has responsibility.
